Max Raabe & Palast Orchester
Petting a bumblebee
It’s sensuous and silky smooth – and to keep things interesting, it has a sting: "Petting a Bumblebee" is the name of the new program that Max Raabe & Palast Orchester will be bringing on their return to the Festspielhaus. With his stylish baritone, Raabe sings about familiar and exotic animals, the perils of autocorrection, and cycling. Once again, he combines "Raabe Pop" from our time with original hits from the 1920s and 1930s in unconventional performances. "Petting a Bumblebee" sums up Raabe’s typical approach to life: the desire to discover the comical, beautiful, absurd, joyful, and melancholy in everyday life and view them through a monocle.
