Moka Efti Orchestra & Benno Fürmann feat. Le Pustra
Moka Efti – words that evoke "Open sesame" from 1001 Nights? Exactly! Since this name opens the door to a world where the nights were long and sensual, in clubs filled with oriental splendor. The Moka Efti Café und Tanzhaus was one of these in Berlin in the 1920s and early 1930s. From this nightclub, the Moka Efti Orchestra took its name and provided the soundtrack to the cult series Babylon Berlin: cool and elegant on the surface, but seething in the heart, which beats to the rhythm of a city dancing on the edge of the abyss. The Moka Efti Orchestra brings the hits and glamour of those years to the stage while actor Benno Führmann reads from the novel The Wet Fish by Volker Kutscher. Kutscher's novel served as the model for the TV series: Welcome to Babylon Berlin!
